I'm a business major turned militant open source / free as in beer/speech software snob like the rest of us. I run a Family Practice medical facility of about 9 providers and I believe we can bring some very positive contributions to the table. My wife and I have been through the horror of two proprietary EMR conversions and this year will be our third. We are a family business that has been providing medical care for almost 40 years and we plan to stay independent as long as possible. I have gemeral consulting and know-how to bring to the table. my sister is joining the practice in July for OB. mostly from being forced to "figure it out" and implementing the last two proprietary systems on my own. My wife has developed a vast knowledge of building notes to allow providers to be as productive as possible. I recently got the HIPAA nod on a disk-less, PXE booting thin-station build out from the state HIPAA auditor and quickly pulled all 50 spinning disks in our office.

I am 100% on board to contribute what we can to the community. A close friend is an android dev, his wife an iphone dev. I am looking forward to getting to know you all better and help work down that punch list for 2014 compliance.
