A physician by trade Dr. Hovorka was born in Topeka, Kansas. He has a history of service completing an Eagle Sout project and becoming an Eagle Scout in 1983. He graduated from Topeka High School with honors and was a Garvey Scholar at Washburn University of Topeka where he continued serving as Interfraternity Council President, President of the Chemistry Club among other posts while graduating with University Honors with a degree in Chemistry in 1990. He received his MD degree from the University of Kansas in 1994. Dr. Hovorka had a surgical internship at the University of West Virginia, Robert C Byrd Health Sciences Center--Charleston Division as well as continuing a surgical training program at Texas Tech University-Lubbock Division where he was also an instructor in Gross Anatomy. He finished the then mandatory 3rd fourth and fifth years of surgical training at the University of Missouri at Kansas City School of Medicine. Currently he practices in Austin as well as the Rio Grande Valley with an emphasis in venous and lymphatic diseases FACS Fellow American College of Surgeons Board Certified Amerian Board of Surgery Board Certified American Board of Preventive Medicine / UnderSea and Hyperbaric Medicine Diplomat American Board of Phlebology Registered Vascular Technician and Registered Physician Vascular Interpreter by the ARDMS Certified Lymphatic Therapist (Norton School)
