AppointmentStatuses-v7

From OpenEMR Project Wiki

Introduction

Appointment statuses are contained in a list in the List Manager. Each status on the list has characteristics and parameters that determine how the status is displayed in the various places it appears in the Calendar, the Flowboard, the appointment dialog, etc.

The list is found here, from the Main Menu: Admin/ Forms/ Lists

Procedure

Editing this list is done the same as any other list as long as you make sure to accommodate the special requirements of some of the columns here.

Top few rows shown for brevity:

Columns

ID - unique identifier for this list item; see below

Title - what it's called; see below

Order - where it appears in dropdown list

Default - makes it displayed in the un-opened list; only 1 allowed

Active - checked status does appear in the dropdown

Color - of the text area the status appears in; see below for details

Alert Time - minutes from change to this status before the appointment's 'Current Status Time' area in the flow board starts blinking

Check In - if this status triggers the 'Check in' activities, e.g., creation of an encounter form, if that global is configured; see below

Check Out - if this status triggers the 'Check Out' activities, e.g., set the check- out time for the visit, referred to in report and status calculations; see below

Code(s) - if any code is associated with this status

Notes:

ID - keep it brief, will be used to show status in the appointment's blank on the calendar.

Title - the leading special character is not required but is visually useful to relate to calendar display reference

Color - this is the color the flowboard shows when the appointment display changes its status. Also appears in other contexts right

Check In/ Out - any status can be either Check In or Check Out but not both. You may have multiple statuses that trigger Check In/ Out mechanisms but they all should mark the beginning or end of the patient's presence in the facility.
