The following office work flow is based on the practice of Samuel T. Bowen, MD. I offer this as a guide to the developers who need to improve their knowledge of the work flow in an ambulatory clinic.
Our clinic is somewhat different from a typical primary care practice in the United States. We see about 1/2 of our daily volume as scheduled primary care visits. About 1/2 our visits are patients who walk in with out appointments. As such a large proportion of our visits are for patients who do not have an "assigned physician."
