This quote was removed from the front page as it is not correct: Tony McCormick has worked out a way to install OpenEMR onto a USB "thumb drive". The data is held as an encrypted copy on the USB drive and a mobile computer. If the computer or the thumb drive get separated both pieces are required to "see" the data. The USB drives are then used to upload the data to a central OpenEMR server for additional processing (billing) What I have is a separate, encrypted application called MEDICS that can synchronized medical records with OpenEMR for offline and mobile use.
