The Dutch Translation Guide

The DTG (Dutch Translation Guide), is a translation "on the go". See the untranslated xl( ) constants and find a definition translation. Fit the translation into some kind of Dutch phrase called a lang_definition.

These lang_definitions must adhere to the following:

"Make the translation the same length or less characters and translate the English constant in medical accepted wordings", while creating the lang_definition.

Be aware that "Back" (English)can be "terug" (Dutch) on your screen, but can also refer to "rug" (Dutch|) as in the case of "Back"-ache.

After this short introduction to pitfalls during translation, you must first ask permission of Sam Brady and you also can help the correct translation to the right place to get.

Typos, incorrect word usage and long translations are scattered and hidden in the tables for translation. Sometimes this leads to ridiculous situations and sometimes incomprehensible sentences.

EXAMPLE of carelessness Date input: Form: yyyy-mm-dd to yyyy-mm-dd is confusing but understandable! ("Form" was read, but "From" had to be translated, a minor but clearly erroneous translation for the user of OpenEMR)

All the translators of the same language would actually have to have its own column, where he / she makes his / her definitions can post to HIDE COPY and PASTE it must be possible to maintain an overview.

Only together can we achieve a correct and "best" translation coming, with the word "translation" is very spacious. OpenEMR is an original American English program, this American is also in use. But the program is so flexible and so to adjust, so that eventually a usable version for the Dutch-speaking doctors will not come DBC (Diagnosis Treatment Code) bound, such as the GP.

If you used the Dutch translation and you like when using a particular language does not, then you can always customize your own version by using: Administration => Other => Translation / Language / Spoken Language (or similar) where you can for your own version of the various translation itself is still adjusting. Translations first introducing and then remember to save at the bottom end of all definitions.

Use temporarily the English translation, go to Administration => Other => Languages => Change Definitions that another translation per field can be created.

CAVE: Make a note of every single definition that is translated, because with each new version OpenEMR these translations are lost. Unless you own backup through these definitions and constants reinstall.

For DBC (Diagnose Behandel Combinatie)related practices I recommend to visit OpenEMD CVS files and then use those files which are useful for your own special needs. But the DBC is a Dutch side-development created division that may here and there show incompatibility with the latest versions of new releases!

For me, Doctor on Curacao, I prefer to use the latest OpenEMR versions from GITHUB or official release. It functions better than the OpenEMR OpenEPD.

But this is about translation.

Be sure to read the English introduction Translation Manual by Dr.. Bowen / Brady Miller carefully! Are there any further questions, go to the Forum and see if anything is clear in the discussions or even ask any of the other translators to find translators in the spreadsheet on google.

With the additions of december 2009, 3466, there are constants available for translation.

Nevertheless there are still pieces in OpenEMR not yet encoded for translation. In the untranslated portions by Development department gradually entered into the spreadsheet so that a subsequent version is available as a translation. More are gradually improved so that the international community actually translated International choice program can work. We're on our way, but it is an ongoing process. The more users log on, the more more questions emerge. More questions than adjustments which follow, that improvements are made.

The translation process is fully automated from the translation tables to an SQL file (Brady Miller's input). Although not yet fully developed, is working on a system where you just enter the desired translations in OpenEMR. From the login screen you can then find your own "language" option, then each user in the language desired by him to operate the screen. On Curacao, it is possible that both English, Spanish and Dutch also OpenEMR screens on different computers, for the same clinic is under construction. Spanish speaking clients go to the Spanish-speaking doctors and the two can then taligen with as much ease by the Dutch-speaking physician assistant or further treated. (CAVE: this does not mean that imports of the doctor or assistant will also be translated. Perhaps an idea for the future, but for now only the OpenEMR software for translation into the picture.) A temporary solution is to the text with BabelFish translations or Google to translate.

The CVS Demo OpenEMR program with the latest translations usually Updated on Friday or Saturday. It may therefore occur that some of the U generated by the adjustment, whether or not during the processing of the tables or not in the last version are ended. It's all volunteer work, and it is uncertain whether and when certain affairs are handled.

Translations using the programBabel Fish Free Edition are available only for a few days, then you will be required to purchase a paid version. There are other free translation programs available. But the definitive translation into Dutch is still a trial and errror development to see if the translation reflects what was intended when the program was written. What is a permanent option is to use Babel Fish in the FireFox browser as an add-on.
